This project involved the demolition of a shopping centre and construction of two residential blocks comprising 54 affordable apartments with a mixture of 1 and 2 bedrooms, 6 of which were designed for wheelchair users. The Redhall Building comprised 26 Social Rent Units and the Inglis Building 28 Mid-Market Rent Units.
The development arranged over 3-4 storeys fits in with the urban character of the area. It aims to respect the dominant building line, reinforcing the urban block, and responds to the eclectic mix of storey heights in the street. Massing, scale and urban grain have been carefully considered to respect the local environment.
