The proposed building contains a 182 bedroom hotel, associated food and beverage outlet and 375sqm retail unit. The proposed building height is designed to relate to the existing tenements on site and neighbouring the site. Feature bands are designed into the elevations that also relate to adjacent buildings. The aim has been to provide visual interest using a contemporary architectural language, while also utilising the dominant granite used extensively throughout Aberdeen in areas where it will be seen most significantly. The elevations have been carefully modelled to create visual interest and will be finished with high quality materials: granite panels, glass and grey powder-coated aluminium panels in varying shades.
