The Brief incorporated two diverse requirements. The first was a tightening of security with the introduction of swipe access doors allowing controlled access to the building. The second, to soften the impact of these security doors, blending them into a design that incorporated the Shell EPE graphics and colour scheme.
A full redesign was undertaken in order to allow the reception to take on a more friendly atmosphere while meeting all the new security demands. The desk design mimicked the Tullos building itself whilst referencing the sea themes preferred by EP. A new external canopy was also added to upgrade the fabric of the building and also house new external signage again reinforcing the EP brand.
