This development was for a private house builder, and consists of five houses arranged in a terrace, complete with car parking and gardens. The site benefits from a southerly aspect over parkland with the River Dee beyond. The site had significant constraints, resulting in a challenging scenario that required careful consideration to ensure that the development was appropriate to its context, yet still remained a commercially successful exercise for the client. The terraced form reduced the footprint of the building, while placing the living accommodation on the first floor maximised views and sunlight. Externally, materials are used that are contextually appropriate, such as natural granite and slate.
